Losing A Home by Paul Majek

Friday 29th May, 18:00
We are pleased to present Losing a Home, a solo exhibition by Paul Majek, curated by Rita Majek – an intimate reflection on displacement, memory, and belonging.

Through layered paintings, sculptural installations, and personal archives, Majek explores the emotional and spiritual weight of losing a home, where physical absence merges with inner dislocation. Rooted in domestic spaces and lived experience, the works trace how both bodies and buildings carry marks of care, distress, and memory.

Set within the evolving environment of House of Annetta as part of the Whitechapel Gallery’s Backyard Biennial: East. The exhibition extends beyond the traditional gallery format to create an immersive, lived-in space reflecting on spatial justice. A programme of workshops and community events invites collective reflection, dialogue, and exchange around home and belonging.

Opening : Friday, 29 May 2026 | 6–8 PM
Exhibition Dates: 29 May – 30 June 2026
Location: House of Annetta, 25 Princelet St, London E1 6QH, United Kingdom
